We’re having a baby!

UPDATE: Baby Boy Is Here!

I don’t post a lot about our personal life, but wanted to share our exciting news! Sometime within the next week or two, Frank and I will be welcoming a little bundle of joy to our family. I’m 38 and a half weeks pregnant and could go into labor any day now! We are beyond excited and can’t wait to make our family of 3 into a family of 4. Our son, Devon, is 18 months old and we are so happy to give him a baby brother; a best friend for life 🙂

It is crazy how fast time has flown. 11 years ago we were best friends that had fallen in love and made the decision to take a leap into what would be a 5-year long distance relationship. Now here we are, living out the dreams we shared together so long ago 🙂 The distance and the lonely nights that led us to where we are were all worth it ❤

Right now we are getting our home ready, my hospital bag is packed, the infant car seat is in the minivan, and we are just waiting for this little one to decide when he wants to make his appearance.

I am going to try my best to respond to emails and continue to ship bracelets to you all during the next few weeks which will be quite busy and sleepless (newborns need to nurse every 1-3 hrs you know!)

As a way to show our appreciation for your patience we will be temporarily discounting the bracelets 10%! Love knows no distance™ Bracelets

P.S. We are not 100% decided on a name yet, so if you have any suggestions, let us know in the comments! I don’t know why, but boy names are tough for us 😛

Our family. I was 10 weeks pregnant here 🙂

While in a long distance relationship, she noticed a lack of resources for couples looking for things to do from a distance (and support for the"non-standard" relationships in general.) Michelle, and her now husband, Frank, started creating the list of things to do and the site grew from there. Michelle also created the Loving From A Distance forum to build a community where people in long distance relationships could support one another and build friendships. Michelle and Frank closed the distance after a 5-year long distance relationship in July 2011. In Michelle's spare time, she likes to keep up on current events and bake cookies. Michelle and Frank raise their 3 young sons and miniature poodle in Maine.

  1. Is there anyone who could give some advice on my situation? Me and My girlfriend have been in a long distance relationship for going on almost a year now, she lives in California and I live in North Carolina. Things were a struggle for a bi in the beginning, but for the last 9 months it has been great and building a better relationship. I have met her family and she has met most of mine, we spend a lot of time together for people who live 2500 miles away. I fly there atleast once a month if not twice and she flies here when she can, its easier for me to work around travel with my work schedule. I have a 9yo daughter from a previous marriage that I have 50/50 custody with here in NC. So we recently found out that we are expecting and she is now 9 weeks and things are really hard for her. She feels like that she has to do this on her own and says that its easier for her to do that and not allow me in their lives because itll be too hard for us to do the LDR from this point on. I try and try to reassure her in every way that I am going to be there and do absolutely everything I can for her and our baby, be there as much as possible until we can figure out a plan on how we are going to move together. She says she will not move here due to her family and her career which I understand she is scared, but I am willing to move there after some years to settle down permanently. Ive tried so hard to show her that this is very possible for us and we can do this by giving her articles like above, books, and other reassurances, but idk what to do. I know she is scared and I know the mixture of hormones is also playing a factor in this. Please help!!
