How come we always fall in love with our best friends?

By Christine   1/14/2009

Love is a very complicated thing. However, my best friend and I have managed to hold on to it for dear life. We met a few years ago and immediately fell for each other. We dated for a year and a half long distance, we saw each other once through out that year and a half. It was extremely tough to hold onto a relationship like that. We ended up breaking up February 13, 2007. We had an on off again relationship for the next year and some odd months. He wanted me, I didn't want him, I wanted him, and he didn't want me. It was so confusing at times. But then in February of 2008 he went into the navy. We wrote love letters all through his two months of boot camp. After months of him dating this other girl who I happen to be extremely good friends with now (she's dating someone in the army), we decided we wasted too much time. Well for Christmas, I gave him the best and most unexpected gift. I told him I wanted him to be my boyfriend and now we're going out again. Its tough dating someone in the military, they are gone for months at a time. He'll be visiting in February (the first time in almost 2 years) and then he'll be out on a ship later this year. But overall, we don't want to waste any more time away from each other. True love can last and we've proved it.

Christine
