Lonely times and miles away from each other
By Loreen   6/23/2009I'm from the United States and David is from Norway. We met on Facebook in April of 2008. I had been divorced for 5 years and didn't find or even look for the time to date. I went to work and came home and this was my life day after day. I was comfortable, wasn't looking, and after being married for 25 years and with childish dreams it would last forever, I didn't really care to have my heart broke again. But fate took me in another direction and that's when I found the love of my life. David put a photo on FB that had a caption underneath that said he was "one of the good guys."
After a few times of this popping up when I went on FB I decided to comment on this statement and he wrote back. That's where it started, and with messages back and forth for a couple months we decided to actually talk on Skype. (I was very nervous). It was very easy to understand David's English and we talked for hours - there were days when it would be at least 6 hours of talking - just about every day unless David had to play in the band that day.
In July 2008, I went to Norway and stayed there for almost 2 months, then came back to the States. David decided to visit me and meet my family in December 2008 and was here for 1 month. He left the States on January 13th and watching him walk through the gates of security was the saddest thing I remember.
We talk every day still and just wait for the right time for him to come back here. I am trying to get a company started here and David still plays in the band "Smoking Moon Dandy," but soon things will be different and we will finally settle in one place together. To me this is the best thing that has every happened, meeting David and being able to know that we will be together soon is what makes the days here so good. As David puts it, I am usually on a pink cloud with my thoughts and ideas... wanting it to happen now, and David is the realistic one in this relationship and knows we must wait until our business is done. Otherwise, if it was up to me he would be here now. But soon...
Loreen
